About us
Heathcote Engineering is situated in the industrial area of Jet Park Boksburg, close to OR Tambo International Airport. Established in 1990, the business offers a precision CNC machining service.
Over the past two years, we developed and refined a range of monitor arms. Originally made to give us the ergonomic benefits, these products were noticed by customers, and visitors to our workshop. Research indicated that there is a need for a completely locally made offering, and we then decided to ramp up production, and make them available to the users of monitors, both office based, as well as other areas of business. All our products are designed and manufactured in house to demanding specifications. Feedback from users resulted in new components being incorporated into the range.
That range today is marketed under the NMIC brand. NMIC’s products are SOUTH AFRICAN DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED not only to fulfil the ergonomic needs, but made to last with solid engineering, – stylish, yet functional. There is an engineering term that: “If it works right, then it should look right”.

Computer Monitor Arm Benefits

The basic benefits of using a computer monitor arm are easily recognised.
Consider the following benefits:
- The screen can be set at a comfortable working height to take away neck and upper back strain
- You can move the screen towards and away from you to obtain best viewing position
- You can tilt the screen to eliminate reflected glare from overhead lighting
- You can swing the screen around for those one on one presentations
- You can turn the screen to portrait mode
- By raising the screen up off the desk, more desk space becomes available
- With a laptop support option, even more desk space becomes available
- With a dual screen install, the CAD user can show the menus on one screen,
and the work on the second screen - When having discussions, the screen can be moved to one side out of the way to reduce distraction
- Having a monitor arm on your desk enhances your professional image to visitors!

- With the precision engineered ball joint, the user can tilt the screen 30° up and down to remove reflected glare and it can also be turned 90° to portrait mode.

Various mounting options are available: - Clamp on
- Bolt on
- Grommet base

- Dual Arms for multi displays

CCTV and TV Arms Benefits

For the smaller business with multiple cameras the placement of the monitor can be a problem. Usually, with the pictures on the screen, the monitor has to be on the desk of the viewer, creating a space issue. Putting the monitor elsewhere, such as on a side desk, or book case, the pictures are hard to see.
However, with our wall mount option:
- The screen can be close to the viewer enabling a clear view of activity from the cameras
- Space issues with the screen positioning are solved
- The screen is fully adjustable to enable optimum viewing
- It has all the benefits of the computer monitor arm.
For control rooms, with larger and heavier monitors, we offer a special mounting with the same benefits.
CCTV and TV Arms Features

Larger CCTV monitors are found in control rooms, and as such the monitor positioning is critical when used for long periods of time. The screens should be positioned so that the viewer has correct view of the screen. This is more so when there are multiple monitors involved, that are used continually.
Our range of Heavy Duty Monitor Arms have all the features of the smaller desk mounts. The screens can be adjusted in a horizontal, and a vertical plane to the best position. Due to the weight of the larger screens, a ball joint is replaced with scissor arms with low friction pivots for the horizontal movement and hand controlled screw for the vertical movement. There is also the ability to adjust the fixed vertical position later, should different screens be used. There are two options: Wall Mount or desk/table free standing mount, depending upon the application.
As our arms are mechanical, and do not use gas struts, nor springs, they are more suited for heavy duty configurations.
Many installations require a custom made arrangement, and so are individually designed for each application.
